Duncan Black

Duncan Black - Chairman

Duncan brings a wealth of experience in leading investment groups, advisory firms and power companies within the UK, Asia and Australia. Duncan has formerly held the positions of Co-Head, Infrastructure Investment, at Eastspring Investments (part of Prudential plc), Asia Head of Acquisitions at Deutsche Asset Management, CFO of CLP Holdings’ Australian electricity and gas utility business, EnergyAustralia, and Head of Finance and Development at InterGen in Asia Pacific.

Having previously held the position of CFO of Atlantis, and a NED of the Board up until 2018, Duncan has a deep understanding of the Company, while his contacts and knowledge of the Asian power and infrastructure markets will allow Atlantis to pursue expansion opportunities presented by our project partners in Japan and South Korea.

Duncan will also take up the position of chair of the Audit Committee, a committee on which he served previously, and a member of the Nomination Committee, where he will bring significant experience and expertise.

Graham Reid

Graham Reid - CEO

Graham joined SAE in January 2021 and has significant UK and International experience in general construction, engineering and renewable energy development, financing and construction. Graham is responsible for the day to day running of the business and its strategic development and growth, with a key focus on the safe and successful delivery of SAE’s first in class energy projects.

Previously Graham has held a number of senior leadership roles, including Chief Executive of RES Americas, and Arcadis Middle East, where he focused on delivering operational improvements and reinforcing the safety culture. Earlier in his career he was the UK Managing Director and an executive board member of Hyder Consulting plc and a member of Network Rail’s project delivery board for the London bridge station project.

In his recent career Graham has been at the forefront of the successful delivery of over 5GW of large-scale renewable energy projects.

Simon Hirst  - CFO

Simon Hirst joined SAE in January 2015, primarily responsible for the MeyGen project where he has held the position of director for the previous 12 months. Simon has worked across all areas of SIMEC Atlantis during his seven years in the company and has extensive experience working with external stakeholders.

Before joining SAE Simon gained wide international blue-chip experience at several organisations including Mobil Exxon, Pepsi Cola, Iron Mountain and InterGen.

John Woodley - Non-executive director

John Woodley joined the Board on 22 September 2008. He was then co-head of the power and gas-related commodity business for Europe and Asia at Morgan Stanley. He founded the very successful US electricity trading operations for Morgan Stanley in New York in 1994, after having worked as a power plant operator and then industrial marketing engineer in the utility sector.

After ten years with Morgan Stanley in New York, John moved to London to help build the electricity and electricity-related energy business outside the US. John is now based in Switzerland and acts as a senior adviser to Morgan Stanley. John has a BSc Eng (Elec) from Wits University, Johannesburg, an MBA from Valdosta State University and an MS in Finance from Georgia State University.
